We are the only educator-founded, BIPOC-led, holistic empowerment education program. We not only want to provide empirically sound therapeutic services to neurodiverse children, but we also want to support community members in special education careers, financial literacy, and wellness support.
We don't just want to provide a service, we want to enrich and empower the entire community.
Our Training & Excellence Program will lay the foundation for a systemic shift in training and support in the special education/early childhood education communities. We aim to reduce burnout and turnover while creating career pathways for Bronx community members. Every staff member who interacts with our students will have a fundamental training on intellectual and developmental disabilities, what allyship looks like, what inclusion means and will hear first hand accounts from autistic adults about their education experience.
Our Training & Excellence (T&E) Program is a 12 month program that will train, support and guide young Bronx professionals to and through their certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) or Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA). With over 50 out-of-classroom paid training hours, as well as the 40-hour RBT training program paid, professionals graduate with the skill set, confidence and investment in their future.
Expectations:
Our goal for the Training & Excellence Program is to train, support, and secure career pathways for over 30 new RBTs, BCaBAs and BCBAs combined each year who can provide early intervention services for neruodiverse children in the community they both reside.
We believe that equity in education is a fundamental human right, and the disparity in access, resources, and quality, among the five boroughs, disproportionately impacts families in the Bronx. We want to be the corrective action to close that gap.
